Friday 18th
August I walked along Sauchiehall Street, down Buchanan Street and then along Argyle Street. I'd been looking for some Scottish music on cassette so that I could entertain myself while I travelled south. However, there were only CDs so I bought two of those as I can make tapes later. I went down to the Clyde where I built a spliff and sat smoking it while looking over the river. A taxi took me back to the hotel and there I was advised that they had been able to secure a single room for me for tomorrow night. I went upstairs quite pleased and watched a movie on television. The hotel turned out to be very central and the young Indian gentleman at the reception desk did all he could to make my stay comfortable. When I explained that I thought it was a bit much to pay 18 pence per unit for a local call from the telephone in the hotel bedroom to download my e-mail he very kindly arranged for me to plug my laptop into the telephone socket in the kitchen I had a couple of whisky’s and a couple of spliffs and at 2030 went out to find some food as I was quite hungry. I went to the Café Latte had a bite to eat before going next door to the Polo Lounge. I enjoyed the atmosphere and found there were plenty people to talk to then later wandered round to Dolmenica's. |
Saturday 19th I took a drive around and went out as far as Dumbarton before spending the evening in the sauna and the bars. |
