Diary 10^th August 2000 & Images Grantown Agricultural Show.

Here I arrived at the green field where all the main events will be enacted throughout the afternoon and evening.

The show started with a parade of floats.	Here is Norman taking time out from running the Coppice hotel.	The theme of the floats was nursery rhymes and this is Sing a Song of Sixpence
There was an old woman who lived in a shoe.	Another version of Sing a Song of Sixpence.	The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea
A pocketful of rye. 4 & 20 blackbirds	Grant house kids.	She had so many children she didn't know what to do.
Little Boy Blue	Sing a Song of Sixpence was a very popular theme and this is the third float.	Baked in a pie.
Mary had a little lamb.	We can take another look at Norman with his Three Blind Mice.	Went to sea in a beautiful pea green boat
The kids waved as floats moved round the field.	imaginative and colourful baking blackbird and protesting fuel tax.	So she whipped them all soundly and sent them to bed.
Come blow up your horn, the sheep's in the meadow the cow's in the corn	When the pie was opened the birds began to sing	4 & 20 blackbirds fit for a king

Norman the proprietor of the Coppice hotel who was on one of the floats was a real comic, one of the most amusing characters there. I took many photographs during the course of the afternoon.
