Diving at Poor Knights.

Thursday 18th January.
After a good English breakfast I left the guest house and set out with enthusiasm to go diving.

01knights.jpgIt was a 40 minutes drive to the north coast. There I found this natural rock formations that was the entrance to the dive office 02knights.jpgAfter spending a short time getting kitted out and a meeting the other divers two boats left for the dive sites. I took this picture of the other dive boat. 03knights.jpgAs we left and the land behind as the sky brightened and hour skipper seemed happy as the conditions improved.
04knights.jpgChatting and getting to know each other as it was a long journey to the dive site. 05knights.jpgWe sailed into some remarkable arches 06knights.jpgNow and that the black T-shirt is of I can see his beautifully suntanned body.
07knights.jpgOne of the other divers took this snapshot of myself. Our first dive of the day was at Keve Bay where the water was 20° C. I dived with Michelle swimming through tunnels and looking at the beautiful fish and coral. 08knights.jpgI found a second dive of the day the more interesting of the two but unfortunately it was over all too soon. 09knights.jpgAs far as my memory serves this is Mateus from Slovenia. the second dive took place at Bartles Bay and on this occasion I dived with Janine.
10knights.jpg After we'd all finished our diving the skipper decided to go fishing. 11knights.jpgAfter an exciting and rewarding day the camaraderie, the discussions of what we'd seen on the return journey was exhilarating. 12knights.jpgHere my diving partner Janine, a lovely lady, displays her figure at the bow of the boat

Immediately the dive was finished I set off and motored back to Auckland. it was a long journey but I eventually found my grotty hotel … worst I have stayed in in this country. It is a room for smokers and that's the only + side. There is no kettle or any other facilities to make a hot drink. I got out of their as quickly as I could and went into town where I dined at the Pollo Tropicana. It had been a satisfying day and I finished with a ice cream and cappuccino. The pain in my chest was very bad so I took a pill to help the dyspepsia. I decided to have an early night and went to bed at 2300 as I am very tired these days.
