Belize City 1988 Part 1 My First Trip to my Roots

I was very excited about my first trip to my fathers homeland. Of course there were no satellite images available to us in those days. Belize is outlined in black on the Yucatán Peninsula with Mexico to the north and Guatemala to the west.

It's geographical area is small (8,876) square miles but in that compact area are incredible wonders. The country's population of around a quarter of a million people come from a mix of international wayfarers who wandered in and never left. The resultant is a people of story book character with an uncommon openness and tolerance. It's history is terrible tale of wars, and the struggle for survival.
