My mother moved to Nethy Bridge, a village near Aviemore in the Highlands of Scotland. to take up a new position as housekeeper. Shortly before this happened while she was still living in the village of Lairg I'd joined the Royal Navy. This was my first leave from the Navy, I stayed in Grantown-on-Spey where I met Jimmy Burns and he became my best friend.
