Here I stand on the steel deck toward the bow of HMS Caesar wearing my whites but this time with long pants. The ship is at anchor as can be seen by the chains going from the capstan for'd and over the bow.

The backdrop is Hong Kong as we lie in the harbour. When next I returned to Hong Kong in November 2000I found a very different place.
