I set my alarm for seven o'clock and rose when I heard it. I decided to wear black jeans and my maroon silk shirt as the weather forecast was for a warm sunny day. After dressing I drank a cup of coffee, mentally flipped a coin to decide whether to route myself through London or take the M25 orbital motorway, the latter won the toss. The sun shone warm and brightly as I drove away from my home at 0805. Traffic was steady until I came to the main Junction with the radial arteries leading in from the East and then spent about 20 minutes travelling seven miles. At 0930 I arrived at a roundabout that should have been marked but on the map supplied by Transco it appeared as a crossroads. As a result of this confusion I had to telephone their office to get final directions to the Clay Pigeon Shoot.
